Mother: Sad youthful female who lives with her mom plans to carry out suicide. Her mommy invests the day trying to keep her from doing it. Well performed, prompted, and revised, although still just a stage drama. Cast includes Sissy Spacek and Anne Bancroft. (96 minutes, 1986)

The Age of Innocence: Humble although powerful rendition of Edith Wharton's novel in reference to an obstructed romance between an involved lawyer and a divorcee, in 1870s Manhattan. Starts off with a super Jazz Age montage opening, then gets slowed down in static, stagy therapy as older Boles interconnects the tale of his ill-fated event to his grandson. Cast includes Irene Dunne, John Boles, Lionel Atwill, Helen Westley, Laura Wish Teams, and Julie Haydon. (81 minutes, 1934)

The Alannist: Eccentric and choppy black comedy in reference to a novice door to door security alarm sales man (Arquette) who finds that his manager and self-fashioned mentor (Tucci) is a crook. Then the youthful gentleman falls in love with his first client (Capshaw). Cast includes David Arquette, Stanley Tucci, Kate Capshaw, Mary McCormack, Ryan Reynolds, and Tricia Vessey. (93 minutes, 1998)

South Ernest Shackleton and the Endurance Expidition: Exceptional record of the fabled 1915 Ernest Shackleton journey to Antarctica and the stranded team's attempts to stay alive. The tale has been remunerated and emphasized as long as then, however nothing could evaluate to this original, simple account with startlingly transparent footage that looks as if it was shot this moming (88 minutes, 1919)

After Hours: Normal man goes through a succession of weird experiences throughout one remarkable day in N.Y.C. How much you like this joke bad dream can rely on how precisely you relate to Dunne, the only common individual in the film! Cast includes Griffin Dunne, Rosanna Arquette, Verna Bloom, Thomas Chong, Linda Fiorentino, Teri Garr, John Heard, Cheech Marin, Catherine O'Hara, Dick Miller, and Bronson Pinchot. The Plot against Harry: Entertaining, perceptive look at N.Y.C. life in reference to an aging mobster just sprung from jail, who finds the old guard changing, and his life unravelling. Fracture: Hopkins plays a cold, determining gentleman who shoots his spouse once he finds she's been in bed with an L.A.P.D. lieutenant. However there is no definative proof, which makes the case a perfect one for partner D.A. Gosling, who's just getting ready to move on to a cushy job at a high-end law firm. Cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Ryan Gosling, David Strathairn, Rosamund Pike, Billy Burke, Fiona Shaw, Bob Gunton, Embeth Davidtz, Cliff Curtis, Xander Berkeley, Josh Starnberg, and Joe Spano. (112 minutes, 2007)

Southland Tales: Impressive cast is trashed in an overlong, overwrought wallow set in 2008 Southern California three years after a catastrophic atomic assault on Texas has turned America into a patrol state. Concentrates on a few individuals trying to subsist in this postapocalyptic atmosphere, including a B action film performer, a porn megastar turned Television commentator, and an L.A. patrol officer with a split personality. Cast includes Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mandy Moore, Justin Timberlake, Nora Dunn, John Larroquette, Bai Ling, Jon Lovilz, Cheri Oteri, Amy Poehler, Lou Taylor Pucci, Miranda Richardson, Wallace Shawn, Holmes Osborne, Kevin Smith, Christopher Lambert, Janeane Garofolo, Beth Grant, Zelda Rubinstein, and Curtis Armstrong. The Day the Hot Line Got Hot: Weak try at espionage as spies mess up the Moscow Washington hot line, leading to global disaster. This was Robert Taylor's very last performance. Cast includes Robert Taylor, Charles Boyer, George Chakiris, Dominique Fabre, and Gerard Tichy. (92 minutes, 1969)
