Blockbuster Rental Plans Review

By Brandi Yates

In the good old days of the 1970s, there was no such thing as a movie rental. If you wanted to watch a movie over and over again, you needed to pay and pay again at a movie theater. However, this did not really happen in excess until the release of the Star Wars in 1976. Cable and satellite television was pretty much still a concept, and if you wanted to see a film that was no longer playing you were pretty much at the mercy of the networks. You would need to check the local listings and make yourself available for when the movie aired. Even if you did get to see it, profanity would be dubbed and whole scenes that were deemed not suitable for television would be taken out.

In the 1980, video cassettes and video cassette recorders were invented. Flick makers shortly realized there had been a big market for video cassettes, as they gave the spectator the opportunity to watch a film as many times as they wanted, and at a time that was handy to them. Video stores appeared to spring up across the nation overnite.

In the 1990s, VCR tapes gave way to DVDs. DVDs had better sound quality and better picture, and movie makers could load up the DVDs with extras like bloopers and alternate endings. Initially, video cassettes were hired side-by-side with DVDs in the video stores. By the 2000s, VCR tapes had just about vanished.

Now, with the internet in almost every home, Blockbuster video has revolutionized video stores once again. by offering online movie rentals. How it works is, you choose a monthly plan, and then order your DVDs through the website. The DVDs are mailed to you, and then you watch them. When you are done with the DVDs, you can either return them in the mail or your local Blockbuster video store. Some plans allow you to even take the movies you ordered by mail and exchange them at your local Blockbuster video store.

Whatever plan you will select, it is the same price if you watch three movies each month or 20 flicks a month. You can pay with a major Mastercard, or you may use your PayPal account. Even if you do not have a card or a PayPal account, you can pay by simply enrolling for the program at your local Hit store. This is a perfect way to lease pictures for those among us who have busy lives and cannot always make space to go to the video store. You can scan the selections from your living room, and cool new releases will nearly always be in stock. The sole difficulty with the program is that you've got to wait for your flicks to come in the post. with a little pre-planning this is no problem in the slightest.
