What To Look For In Wrist Weights

When using wrist weights, weightlifters often wrap some special bands around their wrist; these special kinds of brands are known as weight lifting wrist straps. These straps help the weightlifters to prolong their hold on some definite exercises such as barbell shrugs and lateral raises. There are several equipments for weight lifting.

Weight lifting wrist straps are commonly known as: weight straps, hand straps, weight training straps, weight lifting straps, dead lifting straps, dead lift straps, power straps, power lifting straps, lifting straps, wrist weights.

Its length is made in such a way that after wrapping around the wrist; some area of it is left which then covered around weight lifting rod. In this way the weight lifter keeps a strong grip in the rod. The main use of weight lifting straps is to keep the rod in hand during lifting heavy weights. People generally use straps when their grip of sticky hands does not support heavy weight.

During the time of compound exercises like pull-ups, deadlifts, shrugs, rows, lat pull down etc, these 100% cotton made straps carry the strain of forearms and wrists. They are created to build bigger legs, lat and traps.

These straps are mainly used to build bigger back/lats, traps, legs and many more. It helps to improve your grip so you can easily handle heavy weights during various exercises. It has different sizes from teenagers to younger.

Straps are applied to carry out different compound exercises but at the same time they are helpful in performing heavy dumbbell curls or presses. At initial stage, you may face some problem but with the passage of time you will see how your grip is improved and you are able to smack the traps and back.

At start may be you find some problem in doing exercises with straps but after few days you can see how dramatically your grip is improved and then you are able to easily smack the back and traps. So people can carry more than their power. Commonly wrist weights are made up of nylon, cotton, leather or suede having loop at one of its end.

Adjust the direction of your hands on the hand but remember that strap should point to the floor. At the end, tight the wrist weights by moving the rod.
